National Youth Violence Prevention Week

Founded in 2001, the National Youth Violence Prevention Week is a national education initiative with the goal to raise awareness and educate students, teachers, parents and the public on effective ways to prevent or reduce youth violence. The weeklong celebrations involve activities that demonstrate the positive role young people can play in making their schools and communities safer and the role that everyone can play in preventing youth violence. Each day of the week corresponds to a specific challenge presented to prevent youth violence.
