Birth Defects Prevention Month

Observed in January, the National Birth Defects Prevention Month focuses on raising awareness about the frequency with which birth defects occur in the United States and the steps that can be taken to prevent them. While not all birth defects can be prevented, steps can be taken to help women get a chance of having a healthy baby. The theme for the National Birth Defects Prevention Month 2018 is “Prevent to Protect: Prevent Infections for Baby’s Protection.”
