National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month

Addiction problems are common in the U.S. Many states in the country are witnessing a rising dependence on opioids and prescription medicines in addition to increasing levels of addiction to illicit substances like drugs and alcohol. Every year, the SAMHSA sponsors Recovery Month in a bid to educate more people about mental and substance use disorders while adulating those who recover. The purpose of observing this event is evident in the annual theme “Join the Voices for Recovery: Strengthen Families and Communities” that stresses on the need to join the movement toward complete recovery.
