National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month

Each year, Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) observes May as National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. Given that the month is peak season for allergy sufferers, it offers a perfect time to educate patients, family, friends and co-workers about asthma and allergy conditions. Asthma is one of the most common chronic health problems in the U.S. A prototypical chronic physical condition, it is linked with various mood disorders, such as depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation.
