National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month

Alzheimer’s Disease is the sixth leading cause of death among Americans. Currently, mental health problems like Alzheimer’s and other dementias cost the nation roughly $ 259 billion in 2017. While more than five million Americans are already living with this disease, the number is expected to rise in the coming years. More concerning is the fact that treatment centers for helping those afflicted with this disorder do not commensurate with the numbers of people that will be affected with this disorder in the coming years. This month is observed by the U.S. people to raise awareness about diet and nutrition that can help slow down the rate at which this disease affects coupled with other preventive interventions in this regard.
