Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month

July is observed as the Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month. Juvenile arthritis (JA) is an autoimmune disease in which a child’s immune system mistakenly targets and attacks healthy tissues. The goal of the month is to spread awareness about the 300,000 children in America who have been diagnosed with JA and to serve as a reminder that though progress has been made in treating JA, a lot more still needs to be done to help all those suffering from this painful and debilitating disorder.
