International Migrants Day

“People fleeing their homes or migrating to faraway places in hope of a better and secure future for themselves or their families has become a trend worldwide. War-torn countries, nations plagued by an economic slowdown or religious bigotry leading to communal clashes have resulted in more people turning into immigrants and surviving on aids and donations from generous and better-developed countries. The issue of migration calls for help, considering the impact of trauma and fear that gets inflicted on the minds of unlucky and helpless emigrants.
The United Nations observes the “International Migrants Day” on December 15 each year in a bid to call out for peace and increased tolerance for others so as to curtail the problem of huge flocks of population settling across borders and asking for help.”
