Huntington’s Disease Awareness Month

May is Huntington’s Disease Awareness Month that focuses on educating people and raising awareness about Huntington’s disease (HD), a fatal genetic disorder. HD causes progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain that deteriorates the affected person’s physical and mental abilities and has no cure. The Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) has launched a social media campaign with #LetsTalkAboutHD ahead of the observance of the month this year. The initiative encourages people affected by HD to share their experiences on social media through videos, photos or personal stories using #LetsTalkAboutHD and educate the world about the devastating impact of Huntington’s disease.
